Sophie L’Helias is an award-winning corporate governance and ESG expert who draws upon her experience as a shareholder activist, managing director of a hedge fund, M&A attorney and board director.
Ms. L'Helias is President of LeaderXXchange, a trusted advisory that develops value creating solutions through the integration of ESG in strategy, leadership and investment. Her clients clients include publicly traded companies, investors, rating agencies and non-profit organizations.
She currently serves as lead independent director of Kering, a publicly traded company, and is also non-executive director of an unlisted regulated financial institution and two ESG funds.
Ms. L'Helias is the recipient of the 2019 ICGN Lifetime Achievement Award in Corporate Governance; the 2019 New York Women in Asset Management Award - ESG; the 2018 Global Proxy Watch GPW 10 Award, and was ranked by Forbes in 2019 as one of the top 40 French Women Leaders.
She recently co-authored with Columbia University the first Global Investor-Director Survey on Climate Risk Management.
Ms. L'Helias holds an MBA from INSEAD, and law degrees from University of Pennsylvania, University of Pantheon-Sorbonne Paris I and the European Institute of Comparative Law in Saarbrücken.
Expert Speaker: Antje Stobbe
Senior ESG Analyst, Director, Allianz Global Investors
Antje Stobbe joined Allianz Global Investors on 1 April, 2019 as a Senior ESG analyst. As a member of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Research team, she is - among others - responsible for corporate governance and proxy voting for EMEA markets, focusing on Germany and Austria in particular.
Before joining the firm, Antje was Head of Stakeholder Management in the Investor Relations team of Deutsche Bank leading corporate governance dialogue with the Bank’s top investors and serving as the key IR contact for Deutsche Bank’s ESG investors. In her previous role, Antje was Head of Sectors, Technology & Resources at Deutsche Bank Research in Frankfurt, and a member of Deutsche Bank’s Environmental Steering Committee and Climate Change Advisory Board. Antje gained a PhD from Friedrich Schiller University Jena and graduated in economics (Georg-August University Göttingen, University of California, Los Angeles).
Expert Speaker: Stefanie Chalk
Director, Brunswick GroupStefanie advises companies on ESG as well as in business critical situations and stakeholder relations. She has more than 20 years of experience in financial communications, sustainability and corporate responsibility issues. Prior to joining Brunswick in 2017, she held regional and global positions in the financial services industry and in consulting in Asia and in Germany, such as Regional Head of Sustainability & CSR with Morgan Stanley in Asia and Global Head of Communications for Governance, HR, Diversity and Legal at Deutsche Bank.
