John Carfi
CEO

Mr Carfi joined the Group in April 2024 as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Carfi brings to the Group more than 35 years of large company leadership experience and extensive real estate expertise with a strong focus on the development sector. He has significant experience in developing and operating property businesses in both global and local contexts and a demonstrated ability to set and deliver on strategy.

His prior executive roles include CEO of Residential Development at Mirvac and construction and development roles at Lendlease Group. He was the CEO of Emaar Properties (USD $37B Dubai based real estate company) responsible for US$120 billion worth of multiple large-scale, mixed-use developments, and more recently, CEO of Aqualand Australia.

Mr Carfi is currently a Non-Executive Director of Aqualand, Chair for Central Barangaroo and Advisory Director of Properties (Aqualand).

Mr Carfi holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Building.



 

Justin Mitchell
CFO

Justin joined Ingenia in 2023 as Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for leading the business’s finance, investor relations, and technology functions.

With more than 25 years’ experience in ASX-listed companies and public practice, Justin is strategically focused on optimising financial performance, building and developing high-performing teams, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Before joining Ingenia, Justin was the Chief Financial and Operations Officer at 151 Property, a Blackstone portfolio company, and held several senior financial roles at CommBank, including CFO CommSec and Business Banking Product. Preceding this, he was CFO at Mirvac Group Limited and James Fielding Group Limited.

Justin holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment, and is a Chartered Accountant.



 




 

Justin Blumfield
GM Residential

Justin joined the Group in March 2021 and is responsible for the Group’s Residential communities.

Justin has worked within the commercial property industry for the past 14 years. He commenced his property career with the highly successful, top 50 ASX listed property company, The GPT Group. During his seven years at GPT, Justin held various positions in both the retail and commercial property sectors including Marketing Executive, Retail Manager, Centre Manager and Regional Manager of Commercial Office in Victoria.

Prior to joining Ingenia, Justin spent seven years at Vicinity Centres, a world leading top 30 ASX retail property group owning and managing circa $20 billion of commercial real estate assets. Most recently, he held the position of the Director of Shopping Centre Management. In this role, Justin was responsible for the strategic asset management of Vicinity’s 56 core shopping centre assets across Australia including the country’s leading outlet brand DFO.

Justin is a board member of the Abbotsford Convent Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation responsible for the curation and care of the Abbotsford Convent, one of inner Melbourne’s much loved urban retreats, and home to more than 100 arts and creative practitioners.

Prior to Justin’s 14-year property career, he was a professional athlete with the Essendon and Richmond Football Clubs in the Australian Football League. The major achievements of his sporting career were winning the AFL premiership with Essendon in 2000 and being a member of the successful Australian International Rules team in the same year.

Justin holds an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).



 

Matt Young
GM Tourism

Matthew joined Ingenia in March 2021 and is responsible for all Ingenia Holidays communities and food and beverage operations.​

Matthew brings 25 years’ experience in national and international tourism working with global hotel brands to the role with responsibility for operating hotels and resorts as well as hotel development projects. Prior roles include Vice President QLD and NT at Accor and a variety of leadership positions with InterContinental Hotels Group.

​Matthew has extensive knowledge of the tourism industry and expertise working with global brands managing large teams to deliver on strategy and business outcomes.
